Product Inspection

Product Inspection

Order-specific quality checks at the production stage that matters, carried out by an independent inspector and reported in writing. Every request is reviewed individually and quoted per inspection.

Quick answer

A product inspection checks a specific order at a specific stage: before production starts, while it is running, before shipment, or during container loading. The inspector works to your requirements or an AQL sampling plan, reports findings with photos, and gives a clear recommendation. It is quoted per inspection and priced by type, scope, location and duration.

Inspection requests are reviewed individually. We respond with a scoped quote based on inspection type, location, duration and qualified inspector availability.

Inspection stages

Each order is different. Pick the stage that fits your production calendar.

PPI

Pre-Production Inspection

When
Before production starts, on raw materials and the first sample.
What is checked
Raw materials, equipment readiness, production plan, BOM, packaging materials, colours, dimensions, labels, samples, process requirements.
Why it is worth it
Catches the wrong thing before it is mass-produced. The cheapest defect is the one that never gets made.
DUPRO

During Production Inspection

When
While production is running, typically at 20–80% completion.
What is checked
Product quality, dimensions, appearance, workmanship, function, quantity, defect rate, production progress, packaging, labels.
Why it is worth it
Problems found mid-run can still be fixed in time. Waiting for final inspection risks a whole batch you cannot repair.
PSI

Pre-Shipment Inspection

When
After production, before the goods leave the factory.
What is checked
Quantity, appearance, dimensions, function, packaging, labels, barcodes, carton contents, specification, AQL sampling, defect classification, photos.
Why it is worth it
The final quality gate before balance payment. Most buyers start with PSI because it is the moment money is about to move.
CLS

Container Loading Supervision

When
During container loading at the factory or warehouse.
What is checked
Container condition, container number, seal, product quantity, carton count, SKU, packaging, labels, loading process, mixed or wrong goods, short loading, photos, video.
Why it is worth it
Confirms that what you inspected is what actually gets loaded. Guards against substitution, short loading and mixed shipments.

How it works

From request to report, without a platform to learn.

  1. 1

    Send the request

Tell us the factory location, product, order quantity, preferred date and what to check.

  2. 2

    We quote

A scoped quote based on inspection type, scope, location, duration and inspector availability. No payment until you confirm.

  3. 3

    An inspector goes on site

The inspector is independent and matched to the location and product category. You can watch live if you want.

  4. 4

    You get the report

Findings with photos, defect summary, AQL result and a clear recommendation, usually within 24 hours of the visit.

What you receive

A written report you can act on, not a phone call.

  • Findings with photographs
  • Defect summary by severity (critical / major / minor)
  • AQL sampling result where applicable
  • Quantity and packaging check
  • Clear recommendation: PASS, FAIL or REWORK

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between DUPRO and PSI?

DUPRO (during production) is done while the goods are being made, usually at 20–80% completion, so problems can be fixed before the batch finishes. PSI (pre-shipment) is done after production, before the goods leave the factory, and is the final quality gate before balance payment. Many buyers do DUPRO for first orders and PSI for repeat orders; some do both.

Do you have inspectors in every city?

We do not publish a map of hundreds of inspectors because that would be a claim we cannot back. We match each order to a qualified independent inspector for the specific location and product category, and we confirm availability before quoting. If we cannot find the right person, we tell you instead of sending someone unsuitable.

How much does an inspection cost?

It depends on inspection type, scope, location, duration and the product. A standard single-site PSI in a major manufacturing hub is typically in the range of USD 200–350 per man-day, plus travel outside hub cities. Send us the factory location and we will quote it precisely.

Can you inspect against my own checklist?

Yes. If you have a buyer checklist or a spec sheet, send it with the request and the inspector will work to it. If you do not, we use a standard AQL-based inspection plan and tell you what we covered.

How soon can an inspection be scheduled?

In major hubs (Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Penang) we can usually schedule within 2–3 business days. Other locations need more lead time because the right inspector has to travel.
